Psalm 100 A Psalm of thanksgiving. |
Daily Prayer (based on Psalm 100:3) Dear Lord, You made us, and we are Yours. Your are the Creator, the Giver of life. Apart from You nothing would exist, including us. We are the result of your creative effort, the reflection of Your perfect plan. Even when sin twisted Your creation, the mark of Your goodness remained in us. Though we bear in our own persons the impact of sin, we are still Your creatures. The wonder of our bodies reveal the intricacy of Your plan. Our soul's longing for You proves that even sin cannot erase the stamp of Your character upon us. We are, indeed, created in Your image. When that image is tarnished, it still reflects You, however imperfectly. Because You have made us, Lord, we belong to You. We are Yours. We exist for Your purposes and Your pleasure. Help us to live this day with this thought in mind, giving ourselves to You and seeking Your kingdom. Postscript God is our Maker in creation and, indeed, in salvation as well: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.
