Psalm 52 0 To the leader. A Maskil of David, when Doeg the Edomite came to Saul and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.”

Daily Prayer (based on Psalm 52:8) O God, may I be planted in You. May my roots grow deeply into Your Word. May I draw nourishment daily from Your living water. May I be so strongly embedded in You through faith that nothing can uproot me. May I bear ample, hearty fruit for Your kingdom. May my life be an illustration of what it means to abide in You, so that other might be drawn to plant themselves in You as well. May my fruitfulness continue for my whole life because You are the source of my life. Amen. Postscript See the picture of an olive tree in the left column. This tree is in the Garden of Gethsemane. Its age cannot be determined precisely, though it is estimate to be 1000-2000 years old. It is probably not one of the trees that was in the Garden when Jesus came to pray before His crucifixion, since those trees were, in all likelihood, cut down by the Romans during their siege of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. However, it's possible that this tree grew from the roots of an older tree. (Image(s) courtesy of www.HolyLandPhotos.org, a fantastic website of images from the places of the Bible.)
